As you probably already know, Tokyo is the capital of Japan. Yokohama is approximately 30 kilometers from the center of Tokyo. Tokyo city has the largest population of any city in Japan. Yokohama city has the second largest population. It is often said that the Tokyo and Yokohama metropolitan area has the largest metropolitan population in the world. The Poppular of Yokohama If you have an opportunity to ride a train from Tokyo to Yokohama, you will be surprised at the view because residences are packed together over a vast area. You may occasionally see vacant land that will be the grounds of a school or temple (maybe a cemetery). You will hardly ever see natural locations such as woods or fields. You can get to Japan's highest observation deck (273m above the ground) in about 40 seconds with e fastest elevator in the world (750m/min.). The sprawling jewel-like sight shows you a 360 degrees beautiful panorama up to about 80km away. You can see Mt. Fuji, Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and Boso peninsula on a clear day. There is a sourvenir shop on this floor. There are nice shopping malls on the lower floors (Landmark Plaza), continuing to other shopping malls including "Queen's Square" and "at!". In christmas season, the building will be attractively decorated with other buildings around it. Access:5 minutes walk using the moving walk way from Sakuragicho station (JR Negishi, Tokyu Toyoko, Shiei Chikatetsu lines). Sail
Traing Ship Nippon - Maru and Yokohama Maritime MuseumThe classic Nippon-maru which was built in 1930 as a sail training ship, is docked here. Yokohama Jack Mall Yokohama Jack Mall, opened in October 1999, is the newest big shopping center in Minato Mirai 21 District. The east block has specialty stores such as sports, amusement and delicatessen.
